Despite constructive and relentless mediation efforts by the emir of Kuwait, supported by the United States, the GCC crisis has reached a stalemate. No diplomatic solution appears on the political horizon now. The Saudi-led bloc remains adamant that Qatar must acquiesce to its 13 demands before engaging in any talks with Doha.

Arab Center Washington DC will convene a panel of prominent scholars specialized in Arab Gulf affairs to discuss the internal, regional, international, and legal aspects of this conflict and explore the prospects for a diplomatic solution.

Speakers include:

Dr. Majed Al-Ansari
Professor of Political Sociology, Qatar University

Dr. Mohammed A. Al-Khulaifi
Dean of the College of Law, Qatar University

Dr. Mohammed Al-Misfer
Professor of Political Science, Qatar University
