As part of the weekly seminar series, on Monday July 30, 2013 the ACRPS held a dialogue session on the latest developments in Egypt. Dr. Hassan Nafaa, Professor of Political Science at Cairo University, and Wael Kandil, writer, journalist and editor of the Egyptian newspaper Al-Shorouq. The discussion was dominated by the details of the crisis that led to the military establishment's isolation of President Mohamed Morsi. Speakers discussed possible scenarios for the development of the crisis in Egypt. It was evident from the discussion between the guests and the audience that views were polarized. The participants stressed that the current situation in Egypt is a pivotal phase that will determine the fate of the gains made in the January 25 Revolution and the future of democracy in Egypt.
